Co-worker (cow orker?) appreciation thread

I’m working for the rest of the summer as a check-out girl at the Save-a-Lot grocery store in my hometown to earn back all the money I blew in Europe. It was the only place that would take me for a couple of weeks and I hated it at first. It’s still hard work - I come home tired nearly every night and the customers are for the most part complete dipshits, but my co-workers are fucking awesome. They’re just average people of average intelligence trying to get by, but they’ve made this job one of my favorites so far. So I have to give a shout out to the following people:

Carol - thanks for getting those damn kids to stop running around on the counter while their parents bag their groceries, and being sweet and grandmotherly enough to not appear to be a bitch while doing so.

Diane - I hated you at first, but now that I’ve learned to get off my ass and do stuff when there’s no customers, you’ve proven yourself to be a most helpful and tough-as-nails manager. Thanks also for the old Motown music you play during your nights there, which are a great help to me getting my groove thang on.

Jerry - thanks for leaving those garlic breadsticks for me in the breakroom today when I told you I was hungry. Thanks, too, for being our all-around team guy. Are you a stock boy? Are you a cashier? Are you an assistant manager? No one knows, but there’s not too many people as dim-witted as you that I would safely hand over direction of a grocery store to for a day and know it was in good hands.

Betty - thanks for managing to be so damn cute and sassy when you’re just going around arranging boxes and stocking bread.

Joe - thanks for regaling me with stories about how you’re going to sell enough pot to allow you, your girlfriend, and her little girl run away to Colorado one of these days. I can’t tell you how much I’ve been entertained.

Jeremy and Warren - my stockboy honeys! Thanks for your completely unsubtle flirtations, and for backing off when you found out I had a boyfriend. Whenever I get a hickey, you’re always the first people to notice.

Ron - you’re my favorite manager, you know that, dude? Thanks for walking me out to the parking lot tonight to make sure no one grabbed me, and thanks for laughing at every single one of my smartass comments since I started working here.

Chris - thanks for just being so easy on the eyes. Mmm… tell me again about the time you were training in Norway with your Marine battalion…
