I am really going to look forward to this! I, too, have been enjoying an occasional Diet Rite soda whenever I need my more-sugary-flavor-than-Diet-Coke fix. Don’t get me wrong- I have grown to like Diet Coke (especially with Lime), but I am a great admirer of Splenda. 
And don’t worry everyone-- from the OP’s link, Coca-Cola has reassured that the “regular” Diet Coke will be sold alongside the new Splenda-cized version.

Wow. Clearly you are in the minority. Some sort of thing like that chemistry experiment where some people taste something others can’t? Splenda is known for NOT having an off taste–obviously not to all, but to most. Too bad for you, because to the majority of us, it is so much better tasting than other sweetners.
I will join CrazyCatLady in denouncing Splenda! There isn’t an artificial sweetener that has passed by unnoticed by me, yet…
Not to say that I don’t like certain diet drinks; Diet Coke vs Classic is an abitrary choice to me. And I really like C2 - my favorite, actually.
I will cautiously examine this new specimen, should I come across it by the vending machines… of course, this means having $1.50 in change on my person - a ridiculous situation, indeed! - but that’s for the pit…
