The opposite of cock blocking is “taking one for the team”. This is where the more positive aspects of a male’s human nature comes on display. In order to assist a friend who is hitting on a female, a male will distract her friends and generally assist with the effort. You see, a lady might be inclined to hook up but will be stopped by her protetive friends, some of which are slightly less than attractive and may even be of an unhealthy weight. By stepping in and charming them, the friend is taking one for the team. His distraction allows the buddy to be unimpeded as he works on the original target. This concept is also known as “wingman”.

oo, you’ve missed an important distinction. The wingman is always responsible for chatting up the ugly friend, and for generally supporting his pal in his attempt to get laid.
On occassion, the friend is so enamored of the wingman, that she wants to go home with him. The wingman attempts to avoid this, but sometimes his friend can only score if the woman’s friend does, too. Then the wingman “takes one for the team,” and goes home with a woman he is less than perfectly attracted to.

No, a “wingman” is simply any buddy who assists you in picking up women. He might help you pick up a single woman (like Goose and Maverick in Top Gun) or the two of you might work off of each other to pick up two women. Or he could just hang back so you don’t look like a lone loser in a bar while you decide which women to talk to.
What you have described is what I have always heard refered to as a “grenade man”. Basically, one member of your crew is designated or becomes the de facto grenade man. His job is to hit on or otherwise distract the fat, ugly, married, bored, annoying or otherwise unpleasent women in the group so that they don’t come in and cock-block your friend with "don’t talk to THAT guy (“that” being “any”) or “I’m bored, lets get out of here.” Think of a soldier jumping on a live grenade and sacrificing himself for the rest of the squad.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) sometimes the grenade man still gets laid anyway.
So in the truest sense, the grenade man is the counter to the female cockblock.
The wingman would be the opposite of the male cockblock in that he is assisting your game instead of hampering.
Some other definitions:
Swordfighting - Two or more guys trying to outdo each other to get the same girl. Usually results in everyone goes home single
Sausagefest - A party with an overwhelming ration of men to women. Not only do the few women there have their pick of guys, they tend to be on the defensive because of all the dudes hitting on them.

A few years ago I actually put some serious thought in this, using a rhyming dictionary and everything. The best rhyme I could come up with ended up being pretty profane: Cunt Shunt.
I didn’t even know what shunt meant until I looked it up, and it fits pretty perfectly. I have a feeling it’ll be hard to get it to catch on.
