Okay, thank for pointing this out. When I came to the thread, I was rushed for time and didn’t want to read all the posts, even though there weren’t all that many. So I did a quick Firefox page search for ‘Peggy’, got nuthin’, and posted what I posted. ‘Best laid plans…’ etc.
In a way, it doesn’t make any difference, as I wasn’t just nominating that particular song, but the entire album and Peggy Lee’s performance throughout. It really is a landmark recording.

If you’re gonna talk about children’s songs, there’sThe Coffee Song from Ralph’s World (Ralph Covert). This one also has C-O-F-F-E-E. There are other versions to link that actually have Ralph in them, but this one is the best recording (from the album).
