Coining a new word!

When a friend of mine linked on his Facebook page to the Oxford American Dictionary’s “press release” for the Word of the Year, he commented he had a few of his own:

Anyone got any others?

AMERIGINE–American Indian (rhymes with aborigine)

FOSSILARIUM–home for the very elderly

SMINCH–a very short distance

OOBITAT–a place for your astral travelling self (an Out Of Body Experiece) to stay for a while when you are just not ready to return to your physical body

GRAMBLE–to bet on football games between Black colleges

UFORIA–giddy excitement over flying saucers

We have coined a word in our house that is slowly spreading…

HAL— Huge Ass Liar, Huge Ass Lie, Huge Ass Lying

You are such a HAL
That is a HAL
No way, you are HAL-ing me.

Splunge!

Verocative.

Trick-a-sac: These appear as cul-de-sacs at first sight, but when you get closer they will actually have another street coming out at a right angle.

“This looks like a dead end.”
-“No, don’t worry, its a trick-a-sac.”
