Coke with pure cane sugar will soon be available!

@Sylvanz , have you tried a 12 step program

You’ve said you probably drank more Coke than anyone on this board.
Only you can answer this.

Excuse me if I’m over curious,
You’re not required to discuss it, of course.

But…
I haz questions;

What Coke do you drink?
How many per day?
How much cash are you laying out per week?
What does it do to your pee?
Your sleep?
Your digestion?
Your teeth?

Again, not making judgement, just wondering.

Yes, for Disney also, I had heard it was offered more or less at cost, just to keep the Coke name there.

That’s my recollection, as well. It’s also worth noting that, when Coca-Cola developed Diet Coke, a few years earlier, they did not try to make it taste like regular Coke; they were shooting for a taste profile that was similar to Diet Pepsi, which was booming at that time (late '70s / early '80s).

I drink the classic coke with hfcs or cane sugar.
Hubster and I go through 2 2lters a day more or less. Since he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I drink the lion’s share.
Well, it used to be a lot less before Covid, surprise, surprise. Then icould do 10 get 10th one fee at Meijer. I’d often get asked if I was having a party. I’d say sure.
I sleep pretty well. I think I have a tolerence.
I do take prilosec, but weird stuff sets off gerd for me but not coke.
Before Covid and going on Medicare, I had, periodontal disease, tmj, and lichen planus. None of which are caused by drinking soda.
However, a out 30 years ago I smashed my mouth into an iron fence post. Both front teeth were broken. I got plastic crowns that were gauranteed for 5 years. I had them for twenty before they needed replacement. Last summer though one of them broke. I needed a root canal and a crown. This would have cost 1600.00 with insurancewe could not able to afford that. I had it pulled and got a “flipper.” I talk a bit like Elmer Fudd, but whatever. Anyway, the damage from the original, along with the , crowns, along with Coca- Cola contributed to the problem.
Soooo, way more than you asked.

This has been a condesed and boring history of Syl

Oh, since you asked … my pee is nicely clear, and I don’t “leak” after three vaginal deliveries. I hate how tv and books insist if a woman was ever pregnanteven once that we all pee our pants semi regular basis. Ok it’s a pet peeve

Is that TV or the ads thereupon? I don’t recall seeing a show where adult female incontinence was brought up in the plot. Maybe because I don’t watch Lifetime.

I believe she meant ads selling incontinence needs for the elderly. And articles written about it.

Why do you think because she’s a woman, she must watch Lifetime?
A tiny touch insulting.

She may very well watch it. Regardless, the ads are on every channel.

I haven’t seen a lot of references to adult incontinence. I don’t watch a lot of ad-supported TV, maybe it’s there?

How did the conversation drift from sweeteners in Coca-Cola to adult incontinence?

I’m guessing because carbonated drinks can be a bladder irritant and so may increase frequency of urination. So asking those who drink a lot of it about this side effect has some relevance.

Got it in one.

I ask @Sylvanz how her pee was..because cola can make your pee dark. Whether it’s an illness or just a color thing, I don’t know.
I was just curious as she claims to drink alot of coke.

Just pure curiosity.

The board does allow you to send messages directly to other users, in case you were not aware.

I know. She didn’t have to respond. I told her so.
It was in the line of, she’s obviously a Coke drinking expert, so who better to ask?

This thread has been gone in many different directions. Including politics.
So why not?

A lot of the fiction I read is “womens” books in whatever genre. I happen to like urban fantasy the less connudling the better. These books often feature a woman 40+ with at least one kid. They all seem to have incontinence issues according to the authors, because they are menopausal and were pregnant in the past.

I see a lot of conmercials for bladder leak, sweat, period, products marketed to older women for urine leakage. etc. etc. It’s a bit annoying. I probably should have left this pet peeve out. Too late now.

Some people drink Pepsi
Some people drink Coke
The wacky morning DJ says democracy’s a joke

Sorry, this was inevitable.

This was brilliant marketing by Pepsi in the 1980s. Pepsi had a fraction of the market initially. So they devised the taste test to make it seem like the two companies were neck and neck when they weren’t. And voila, Pepsi’s market share shot up. The other bizarre one is Dr. Pepper, which is its own company. But it is bottled by either Coke or Pepsi depending on where it’s located.

Sometimes. In some U.S. markets, there is a third local bottler, which is affiliated with Keurig Dr Pepper (the current name of the company which makes Dr Pepper, 7 Up, A&W, etc.), rather than Coke or Pepsi, and that’s who bottles Dr Pepper and their other brands, and distributes it to stores.

But, yes, in markets where there isn’t that third bottler, Dr Pepper and their other brands are bottled and distributed by either the local Coke bottler, or the local Pepsi bottler.

I know I bought some Coke that was either Mexican and/or sold because of Passover and I reckon (not Jewish) that the HFCS version was not considered Kosher. I dunno. Yet I didn’t really taste the difference.

Also dunno if the Coke they sell in Ireland or the UK is the same recipe as Mexican, yet I certainly can taste the difference. I was in the USA a month ago and straight-up could absolutely taste something “off” about USA coke. Mixed with Bacardi and ice, less so. And reconfirmed on my return to the UK where straight or mixed with the supposedly special 8 year old spiced Bacardi I got at duty-free, both tasted better.

I am not much of a drinker, some Benedictine to settle my tummy, wine with Christmas dinner, etc. But on a hot day, some decent dark rum, a good cola, lots of ice and a lime wedge is very refreshing.

Hah! Dr Cuba Libre. I like lots of ice and the Rum is added till all that ice is afloat. Then top it off with Cola - and it probably doesn’t matter what Cola (though the stuff they pass off as Coke Zero in the UK is not good) tops it off. A fresh lime wedge is nice too.
