Ha ha. When my husband MaxTheVool came with me to Australia for the first time, just as we landed, I broke the news that Coke Zero was not available in Australia. He bought it, but the next cafe we saw had them for sale in the fridge. Dammit!
But now my ruse is coming true…!

They would never retire a well-liked product and replace it with another unless they were sure it’d become a big hit.
Same for me --except the ‘only soda’ part as I also drink Peach Citrus Fresca–another aspartame product. But Cherry CZ is the only cola I drink. And that’s after trying about every other type.
Sounds like more of a re-brand than a change if they’re using the same sweetener.
I don’t like Coke at all but I love Zero and also Diet DP, which is for some reason getting harder to find here lately, especially in restaurants.
Now I’m curious: am I the only person who likes both Diet Coke and Coke Zero? (For that matter I also like both Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max, which is Pepsi’s version of Coke Zero).
You are insane. And Pepsi Max changed to Pepsi Zero Sugar last year and is the best diet soda ever invented.

I haven’t tried Pepsi Max but like all the others. I actually don’t know that I’ve ever met a soda I didn’t like, although I rarely drink the non-diet versions because I can’t afford the calories.

Noooooo I love Coke Zero. Don’t take it away!! Pepsi Zero Sugar is ok but I don’t think it’s quite as good as the old Pepsi Max.
I like both Diet Coke and Coke Zero if they are coming out of a tap (but I still like Coke Zero a tad better). But in a bottle or can, Coke Zero is delicious and Diet Coke is beyond vile!
I still miss the brief, blissful reign of Diet Coke with Splenda. I wish that would return!

(Perth incidentally gets a lot of trial runs of products. Its isolation means its a good test bed in being easy to monitor. Not as much cross-pollination with other markets apparently. I assume there are other similar places in the world.)
