Coke Zero may soon be phased out

That is a terrible logo. Especially when compared to the Coke Zero black background label.

It takes a few days to chill a soda?? May I suggest investing in a new refrigerator?

I also am waiting until I’ve finished the other bottle of regular Coke Zero that I am halfway through. There is a protocol to my consumption habits.

Tried it, tastes like Coke to me. Certainly better than the green abomination that is Coke Life.

There’s lots of places selling US lollies and soft drinks here. Your potato chips don’t do too well (we’re not short of excellent Australian brands) but if you want Cherry Coke, Dr Pepper, Fanta In Odd Flavours, or A&W Root Beer, it’s not hard to get. Hershey’s Chocolate is also readily available (no idea why, we have lots of much nicer stuff on the shelves).

And the jury is in!

My judgement: Eh. Tastes more like Coke Life to me, which is to say bland and metallic.

I’ll give it a chance with the rest of the bottle, but I am not all that impressed yet.

Since apparently I’m the only person in Australia who prefers Coke Life to Coke Zero/Diet Coke, I might have to check this out.

I had to look up Coke Life. Ewwwww. Stevia. And lots of sugar, too.

Yeah, Coke Life is awful.

No Sugar Coke is okay though.

Coke Light>Diet Coke>Coke Zero>Pepsi Max>Diet Pepsi

Diet Pepsi. Imitation (Imitation Coke)

Tastes not quite completely different from any kind of drink I would be willing to drink.

I’m surprised Coke Zero is going. Has a great name, doesn’t taste like — -----, and has a solid market. I wonder if production costs are high for some reason? Maybe it’s cutting into the Coke market?

It’s…not going in the US, is it?

If you truly believe that, I mourn for your tastebuds.

Coke Life was going for the demographic who fill their soda cups up at soda fountains with 1/2 regular coke, 1/2 diet so that they fool their body into getting the sugar feeling without as many calories.

And from what I’ve tasted, they failed to get it right.

There’s two versions of the formula I’ve encountered - 35% less sugar, which is OK but not enough of a reduction for me to choose it over normal coke, and 50% less sugar, which is quite nice and I find very drinkable indeed.

If Stevia is such a great sweetener, why is it never used as a stand-alone sweetener? Because it sucks, that’s why.

Yeah, I have to say, Stevia is pretty terrible. The closest I’ve gotten to sugar is the mix of Ace K and either aspartame or sucralose. I don’t like sucralose on its own, but with Ace K, it works fine for me. That said, I prefer just plain ol’ aspartame/Nutrasweet to all of those, even though I think it’s less like sucrose than the other blends.

And, yeah, Coke Zero and Diet Coke are different, not just rebranded. The former has the aspartame and Ace K mix, while the latter is just plain aspartame. (I should say that is in the US–I think the artificial sweeteners may vary depending on the market.) Coke Zero tastes more like real sugared Coke to me, but I prefer Diet Coke and it’s dry crispness. It tastes “less sweet” as well, or something.

 check the poster name…

yeah. Coke zero can go to hell. Caffeine. No wonder my BP is high. Way too much caffeine for me. Among other things, ticks me off.:mad:

:frowning:

Back to caffeine free diet coke.:eek:
