“Ripped from the microfiche” ?
Kelly Siegler spoke at a couple of seminars for prosecutors that I’ve attended in the past. She’s a very compelling and persuasive speaker. Her big claim to fame at that time was the murder trial of Susan Wright, who murdered her husband by first seducing him and tying him to their bed, then stabbed him 193 times. That’s not a typo.
Anyway, the show-stopper during that trial was Siegler’s re-enactment of the offense. She had the actual bed brought into the courtroom and set up, had one of her assistants lie down on it, straddled him, and re-enacted the crime. I’m sure it was quite gripping.
I am dubious.
First of all, doesn’t NBC already have some kind of show that goes over trials and then shows other facts and disputes what really happened?
Also - I wonder if they just go in and throw some more evidence around, clouding the issue, without any “real” results, or claiming that some guy who died in 1982 was the killer (and thus we may never really know if they were right or not…"
Sound more like armchair detective work - piecing together what fits nicely, but perhaps leaving out other bits that might not work in your theory - all to wrap the show up in a pretty bow after an hour.
I suppose I could watch one to see if it is as flimsy as the premise sounds.
