This thread caused me to do a search on Carrie Hen and was totally surprised that she now looks exactly like my sister.
As mentioned 9 years ago, this phrase and “Hang on, we’re in for some chop” from Aliens were used in the video game StarCraft. The character lines in it were full of Easter Eggs.
That’s the reality now. Call these women inauthentic and you’ll get dumped out the cargo ramp
knows a few military aviatrixes
yeah, they talk just like Colette Hiller does, and it’s hot in eral life too
Either that’s “real life” or “oral life”.
I’m calling her performance inauthentic, not her vagina.
You’re gonna love this. Be sure to read the whole caption: http://www.jumbojoke.com/images/missamerica.jpg
It just kills my wife that, if she were 40 years younger, she could run a Vulcan on a AC-130.
AC-130’s with Vulcans make me feel funny inside.
Makes me proud to be a Murrican!
What Heinlein novel?
I’m thinking Starship Troopers, which had female pilots. Bald, too.
The thought never crossed my mind, just thought she was another cool character. If that was Cameron’s intention he was about forty years too late.
Admirable service, but non-combat nonetheless. It’s apples and oranges. You might as well claim Earhart. If the WASPS had dropped paratroopers on D-Day or something, then it would be a 1:1 comparison.
She is my favourite character from the movie.
Sadly she has only a few scenes

Actually I thought the opposite. I think it gave more of a sense of a progressive future by having a female solider who A) wasn’t Ripley, the Princess Leia of the Aliens universe (that is to say, the only woman) B) wasn’t an over the top she-Rambo (like Vasquez) and C) didn’t look like she would be more appropriate as a character painted on the nose of the dropship.
Speaking of Vasquez, I was legitimately surprised that she was the same actress who played John Connor’s stepmom in Terminator 2.
Right, right. Somebody said “alien” she thought they said “illegal alien” and signed up!
True story.
Zombie aside, for me the greatest thing about Colette Hiller’s character in *Aliens *was how she died. She’s of course shocked at her first site of an alien appearing right behind her in the cockpit, but does she scream & panic like a woman? Hell no! She immediately goes for her sidearm like a true Marine would. Just wasn’t fast enough. I always felt that was a classic ‘Cameron touch’ of realism you see in his films.
Hmm. I always thought she was going for the ejection handles.
That makes her smart if she’d been keeping up on current events, knowing a sidearm won’t save her life. Run away and live to fight another day.
Why she even landed in a hot zone, I have no idea. Tactically that was a stupid move. But, the Marines made a whole shipload of tactical errors.
Well, it was just supposed to be a bug hunt, after all.
I always thought it was weird that her death scene seemed to show that the vehicle she was piloting had windshield wipers on the inside of the windshield. Note the blood being ‘shooshed’ back and forth after the alien got her.
