And no worries Coldie, Rush (the band) is GODLIKE in my book. But, just as the Judeo-Christian God created mosquitos and PMS, every deity makes mistakes. What gets me is that you’re like the fifth person I’ve met whose named themselves after that bloody awful song. So I guess there’s good company in bad taste.
I’ll go out on a short limb here and side with SAL because I don’t see the point in banning someone who is not interrupting the flow of the board. If they post opinions contained within one thread that people don’t agree with, that’s hardly disruptive.
To me, it’s a bad idea to warn or ban people who have ideas or opinions that aren’t popular because “ignorance” doesn’t usually reside in numbers, but just the opposite.
Then there’s the junior mods who pre-warn, which only inflames the situation. Don’t read it if you don’t like it. There are plenty of topics.
It’s not so much Coldie’s love of Rush that bothers me, as his fandom of The Tea Party. Dude, if you’re going to listen to an obscure Canadian rock band, at least make it a good one!

Until a few years ago when I heard Geddy rap I was a big Rush fan but I am scared to listen to them now because Geddy has already shown that he could start rapping at any time!

I’m not sanctioning Andy. I’m just letting him know that he was being unfair to the Hallmark thread OP.
It seems possible that, confronted with the extreme and probably calculated wrongness of margin, Andy has been driven to the opposite extreme, and is quick to attack anything that looks like it could be his enemy.
Thus my advice that Andy should focus on remaining fair himself, rather than letting margin bait him into becoming a mean, unfair poster. Even if being mean and unfair is par for the course in the BBQ pit.
Geddy rapped? Where?
If you’re referring to the -admittedly cheesy- rap bit in Roll the Bones, I was always under the impression that that part was sung by Alex Lifeson.
Am I mistaken?
I don’t see how it could be Geddy without some hardcore editing. His voice is just too high. I checked the liner notes, but it doesn’t say. As I recall, during the concert (latest tour), none of the guys had their lips moving when that part of Roll the Bones was on.
OK, I just checked the Rush in Rio DVD, and nobody has their lips moving during the rap. But nobody gets credit in the liner notes for the rap, either.

And for God’s sake, Geddy never rapped “my name is Geddy and I’m always ready, booooiiiiyyy!” – I’d disown them on the spot, if he ever did that! The actual rap is annoying, but cute and inoffensive:
