Collateral losses of 9/11

Something I’ve wondered about almost since the day is how much irreplaceable art was lost when the WTC towers came down. It’s a delicate question, because I don’t want to imply that even a warehouse full of Picassos equates to a single life or the economic losses… but ten years on, I suspect there’s an answer out there somewhere.

Many of the firms in the towers were the sort to hang original art, and I suspect a few genuine master paintings and sculptures were in there. There may have been even more in the various storage vaults, etc.

Does anyone know of a list of, or individual references to, irreplaceable artworks and items of value lost with the towers?
