Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have entered the chat.
University of Puerto Rico sees your Hawaii and raises you three degrees of latitude.
I still remember the Rose Bowl’s of the 70’s and 80’s when the Big 10 champion was routinely defeated by the Pac-8/10 ( I think the Big 10 only won 3-4 times over the span of about 20 years).
Maybe this will be a throwback game?
I didn’t think it counted since they don’t have a Division I football team.
Though if you’re strictly counting “southernmost university” without qualifiers you’re correct.
You are correct. From 1/1/70 through 1/1/92, the Big 10 won 4 games.
The University of Guam would beg both your pardons.
Not a real University IMO.

Never thought about it that way. The Pop-Tarts Bowl might get away with paying NIL for using photos of the winning team eating the giant Pop-Tart after the game. The problem with that might be, the NCAA may not be too happy with the fact that it was limited to the winning team.
There is a detailed NIL proposal up for a vote at the upcoming NCAA Convention. One of the provisions is, the deal cannot be contingent on the athlete’s athletic participation. For example, a deal cannot be revoked if a football player opts out of a bowl game. It also cannot be offered on the condition that an athlete does not transfer.

I so desperately want the NCAA to make a huge fuss about the winning team being the only team that got to eat the giant Pop-Tart.
I can almost see it now…“Well, we would have looked the other way, but it was a Frosted Pop-Tart, so that makes it an illegal benefit. In order to restore eligibility, all players will lose one day of per diem (which is the usual penalty for things like not showing up at a mandatory post-tournament-game press conference, or publicly complaining about tournament officials). Oh, and the team gets a two-year bowl ban for loss of institutional control.” Some of us remember the “the training table can have bagels, but there had better not be any cream cheese on them” incident.

I was honestly wondering what kind of Pop-Tart it was.
It was strawberry!

My last year in the Navy I (finally) lived off the ship while we were in port. Breakfast was two (untoasted) Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts and a can of Budweiser. It’s an acquired taste.
But Frosted Strawberry would not have worked. However much I like them now.

Another link.

Nick Saban, considered among the greatest college football coaches of all time who won six national titles at Alabama, is retiring, sources told ESPN's Chris Low.
Let the coaching carousel begin!

Ahhh, makes this year’s Rose Bowl victory that much sweeter!
Looks like FSU is going to get hammered with NIL infractions. Of course the NCAA picks FSU instead of other more corrupt schools
The Crimson Tide has reportedly found its 28th head coach in program history in DeBoer, who led Washington to a College Football Playoff national championship appearance.
I’ve heard he’s the front-runner at the moment.
He’d make sense as a hire. Great record and he got UW to the championship in what seemed like the speed of light.
