College Football Playoff Thread

Here’s my idea:

1. Expand the playoff to 8 teams (drop a non-conf game if necessary)
2. The committee meets to pick the playoff teams…
3. From the following pool exclusively:
   a. The 5 Power 5 Conference Champions
   b. The 5 Group of 5 Conference Champions
   c. The major Independents (Notre Dame, etc)
   d. The 5 Power 5 Conference Runners-Up (losers of the Conf. Champ game)

That’s it. Nobody else is even eligible.

What makes each conference championship game loser necessarily a better team than the second-best team in the same division as that conference’s champion?

I would like to a Clemson vs UGA. It used to be a huge rivalry game, until they stopped playing annually in 1987. They have played 8 times in the last 30 years

Clemson and UGA are only about 90 miles apart.
