I don’t think dougie_monty should have to stand for this.
Somebody get him a chair.
Okay, as OP I’m going to make a request. Please stop the subtle jokes at the expense of dougie_monty. I want this thread to be about Collibri’s moderation, and Derleth’s posting. What **d_m **may or may not have done in other threads is off topic.
Thank you, Peter. ![]()
Is no-one ellse going to mention the ellephant in the room?
There’s often a turning point in a thread.
/thoughtful observation.
I have a llap
It would have been better IMO if Derleth had posted “Laugh about how stupid one would have to be to fall for such a transparent ploy” or “Laugh about how stupid I’d have to be to fall for such a transparent ploy”.

Which “begs the question”: Since we are posters here, is it against the rules to insult ourselves?
Isn’t this the kind of thing that you type after hitting the report button?
Thanks, now my head hurts.
Regards,
Shodan
It’s okay unless you insult your own sock.
We all should have a measure of humility, actually. ![]()
Well, it’s likely what you **think of ** after hitting the report button. You know, a moment too late.
But what if my sock is being a jerk?
Go on a long walk, wearing it. That’ll teach it a thing or two.
Well, I just saw a story on my local news where they interviewed by phone one of those IRS scammers who call people and tell them that the police will be there in an hour to arrest them unless they pay up. They got him by calling the phone number he used. He admitted to being a criminal, said it was easy pickings, expressed no shame. He’s apparently not worried about being tracked down by authorities.
The authorities? I would like to see him confronted by all the people he threatened.
Did the news story state what country he was in? Most of these scammers are not going to be extradited from their home countries to face charges in the U.S.
He was IIRC Washington state pretending to be in Washington, D.C.
