Color Blindness

for anyone who may know something about optomitry(sp?).

I have been color blind my entire life, well some people say that i am shade blind. i don’t really know which i am or even if there are two different types. i see all colors but i cannot destinguish blues from purples, greens from browns and sometimes greens from yellow; I.E. McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard, never could really tell them apart. also i cannot read red on black and most neon colors.

am i shade blind or color blind?

is there a cure?

Hereare some tests and links about color blindness. There are only three different color-sensing cells (cones) in your retina, so you can have at most, 7 different types of color blindness, AFAIK. Hope this helps.

thank you Q.E.D.

this page was right on with me except i saw the 29 in the first row and i didn’t see anything but dots in the second test provided.

I saw a 25 in the first circle and a 56 in the circle in the second row to the right, everything else where just dots - which seems to show that I am red/green colourblind (as I have been diagnosed before). However in the seperate test in the bottom, I did see a 5 not a 2 as red/green colourblinds should do…

I could barely see the numbers other than the 25 and 56. They were hard to make out but after looking at them for a few seconds I was able to determine what they are. I have been diagnosed as having “mild” colorbindness so I guess that is about what I should have expected.

I saw an 8 in the second test.
