I’ve known since I was little that I was colour defiecient. Since I’m female I know that my dad has to be colour defiecient and my mom has to carry the gene. I was just wondering what type I would be. I pretty much have trouble with every colour. I have the most toruble with blues/purple. I can’t see blue ink on white boards and yellow chalk on “black” boards. If a red is really dark I may say its brown and if a yellow isn’t a very true sun yellow I may say its green, and so on with all colours. Anyone know what this would be called?
Most people are red-green color blind, not being able to differentiate between various shades of red and green (I fail the tests for this one, but I certanly don’t ever encounter situations where I can’t tell red from green in real life).
However, it sounds like you have what’s called “blue-yellow color blindness”. In scientific terms it means your either missing “short” cones (“tritanope”) or have a lack of (“tritanomalous”).

Ditto.
If you’re really curious you can be tested by an eye doctor.
And it sounds like you might be a genuine trinatope rather than trinanomolous, but you shouldn’t rely on message board diagnosis.
