I had looked up the firestick with my adult grandson after repeated unauthorized debits by comcast to my bank. I incurred overdrafts then returned check fees. Nightmare since last fall. I have to comment on the thread that said that using the firestick was illegal streaming. Rightfully so, but whose the bigger thieve? We had NO prolems with them the last five years, what happened to Comcast??? Fios will be the same, monster monopolies.
They took over 1500.00 from my account since last fall, insisted that I made the payments, (I am retired on a fixed income, cmon! I budget to the nickel) Even after a few calls and one nice employee giving me credits on my account, the next month, I look at my bill online, it’s over $450.00! More hours on the phone, on chat, billing. I was told I NEVER HAD A CREDIT! That that was the balance after the credits they gave me! Then took them away! The monster is dying.

I had signed a form with my bank not allowing Comcast to draw a dime. So last month, I had a credit of $149.00, I go to look at me bill this month, over $450.00 !!! And they tried to put $175.00 through to my bank and it was rejected, they then charged me a return check fee !!! Who tried to put $175.00 ???
I didn’t! No one in my house did, we just don’t pay utilities for something fun to do !!! I could go on and on. There is a class action suit in Texas, I believe, for charges on customers bills that they weren’t aware of. How many others? How many unapproved debits?

I am completely unsure what the OP’s question might be, other than “How many people out there also hate Comcast?” - and since Comcast came in first in a “worst company in America” poll a year or so back, it’s not the most insightful question.
I am not aware of video streaming being “illegal” in any form, anywhere in the US. It’s your internet connection and you can use it as you like, caveats about data caps and throttling aside (which are mostly threatened, rarely yet enforced). We do still have net neutrality, shaky as the concept might be getting.
And anyone who authorizes a company to debit a personal account for payment is just asking for a sore ass. No matter what inducements or discounts they offer.
As rants go it’s 6/10. Too formulaic.

I think that you either want advice, or you just want to rant against Comcast. Advice and opinion questions belong in our In My Humble Opinion forum. I’ll move this thread there for you. If you actually just want to complain about Comcast, we have a forum called The BBQ Pit for things like that. If that is what you would prefer, let us know and we can move this thread there for you instead.

Not sure what the OP is on about either, but I absolutely HATE Comcast and the fact that they say you can stream your content from them in their commercials, but when you check the fine print they don’t have an app for either Apple TV or any of the content TV interfaces (Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, etc etc)…and that this is by design, since they DO have an app for streaming from your phone or tablet. That is complete and total bullshit and pretty much why I dropped them as a provider. DirectTV isnt’ much better, and it’s a pain in the ass to have to download each app for each channel and authenticate to them, but at least I can do that. Comcast is so obviously doing this just to squeeze out a couple more bucks (regardless of how hated this makes them) that I wouldn’t use them as a provider if they were the only option available…I’d go back to broadcast TV first.
