Not abortion, not religion, not politics, not my own feelings about my best friend in 4th grade. I am a fundamentally uncertain person. I find the level of certainty that is often demanded on these boards to be confusing and intimidating.
I’ve seen and enjoyed all the Star Wars movies. The new trilogy certainly had its flaws, but it was fun all the same.
The Simpsons is OK; it’s not as wretchedly bad as some people like to believe, but it definitely jumped the shark about a decade ago.
I’m a Catholic who goes to church every Sunday and most holy days. I don’t agree with the Church about everything (not letting women be priests is nothing but sexism, and they really should lighten up about birth control because Natural Family Planning is just not reliable) but I agree that abortion is wrong except to save the life of the mother.
I’m fairly conservative, and proud of it. I don’t think Bush and Cheney are evil, but they have definitely been lousy leaders.
Everyone expects the Spanish Inquisition. That joke hasn’t been funny since Ronald Reagan was president.
I’ve never done drugs (except for alcohol) and I really don’t have any inclination to try them.
I dislike alcohol, to me the second most harmful drug, but am ambivalent about most others. 'Ceptin crank, first most awful drug.
I do really love the SDMB. Really.
I didn’t really grasp that thread, but it just seems like one of those things you would know about if you’d taken a philosophy course covering symbolic logic (some googling indicates S5 is a kind of modal logic.) It’s a specialized sort of knowledge, but not necessarily more advanced than any other career specialization, I wouldn’t think.
Don’t get me wrong, GD intimidates the hell out of me, but more for the attitudes than the ideas.
No. Here on the Dope, just substitute meme for every noun in the the English language you’re too lazy to remember. For instance, that last sentence would be:
