Come out of the closet: What SDMB rules of a"cool" do you break?

I also can’t stand Harry Potter and am afraid of its fans. Especially after working in a bookstore on the night of an HP release.

Awwwww, I can’t flame you. You’re a hottie.

She’s just waiting for you to talk to her.

You can get a peppermint mocha any time of year, BTW.

Did you know there’s a movie of that out?

My daughters are green without even trying. They never flush.

I don’t like “Friends”
I’ve never seen “Aliens”
I am a Republican (oooooo, evil!)
I don’t dislike Nickelback (except for that horrible “Photograph” song)

Since when was disliking reality TV outside the SDMB mainstream?

Thank you Hostile Dialect and Opal for the help. Once again I’ll try these suggestions and hopefully, finally get it right. Or at least closer.

Actually, I don’t even conserve water. It’s kind of hard to get motivated to do so when half the contents of Lake Ontario is piled up on your front stairs.

I don’t get the appeal of Buffy or Angel at all.
I don’t think all conservatives are evil or closeted gays.
I think grammar police are losers.
I don’t really care how you organize your photos, key rings, or your bathroom trips.
NICKELBACK ROCKS!!! \m/  \m/

Damn you!

But I do see Nzinga, Seated’s point about different tastes and standards and all that. But one has to admit, it’s par for the course that every picture posted has to get an obligatory “how YOU doin’?”, or a “fans self”, “swoons”, or what have you. It’s like people go out of their way/overboard with the sexual innuendo and what not… I think a more dignified compliment might be better than coming off as a horny 14 year old.

It is pleasant to read your posts.

I know the difference between “its” and “it’s”.

After watching a few episodes of Bones, I can sort of see the appeal of Angel. I could gnaw on David Boreanz all night.

And their and they’re. And fare and fair. And I know how to spell per se. I could go on.

Nzinga has a point but yours is far and away more valid so far as the picture threads are concerned. There really are some really nice looking people posting here but the vast majority of us are pretty plain or average and some are actually almost frightening but that doesn’t stop people from falling all over themselves to try to flatter them and I sometimes almost get embarassed reading some of the more obviously deceitful posts.

Yeah, me too. It must be tough for the female Dopers to figure out who’s being honest and who’s being “polite” by acting like a 12-year-old looking at a Playboy centerfold.

Well, I’m here to tell ya that, although I’ve never posted in a picture thread, if I do, please feel free to lie your ass off and tell me I’m absolutely freakin’ gorgeous. I mean, I’ve already got my hands full stalking a celebrity so you guys are safe. Therefore the rule of the day is to flirt with me (if you so choose to post in response to my hypothetical photo) like there ain’t no tomorrow. Which might be the only reason, but still…

I think the Sequential Threads are more enlightening than the Great Debates.

(props to Meacham)

Maybe. I haven’t noticed. But I’d hardly say it’s “cool” even if it is true.

Heh. I think it’s even “cooler” to tell us how young your kid was when he or she started reading.

Sure, but how often does this come up? I don’t ever remember seeing it mentioned here. Maybe I’m in the wrong forums.

I drive an American-made full-size sedan. Don’t know how you can be more SDMB-uncool than that.

I support the war in Iraq.

Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing, hence why my actual liking of it is listed in this thread. Hell, as of this posting, there are three separate mentions of it in the Things you wish the world would tire of thread. That’s almost 10% of the posts.
