Can anybody tell me what the lyrics to the Beatles song “come together” MEAN??? i already know what they are.;j
Where’s Rich Kulawiec when you really need him?
What? You get me all excited, expecting a thread about simultaneous orgasm, and all I get is a question I can’t answer? Repent!
Look, it’s very simple. There’s this guy, alright, and he’s telling people that they should congregate, at this time, concerning him.
I’ve always taken it to be a about a hippie, charismatic, “cult leader” type who was gathering recruits to join him. If you look at the song this way it makes sense mostly, if you liberally interperet things like “he shoots coca-cola” to be “he mainlines cocaine” etc.
I do know that Come Together started out as a campaign song for Timothy Leary, running for governor of CA against Ronald Reagan, but I don’t know if the lyrics as they are, are intended to reflect that or not.
Off to Cafe Society.

Just more of Mr. Lennon’s word imagery. Like “Lucy in the Sky” and “I am the Walrus”.
Nothing. It was Lennon’s response to critics’ over-analysis of his lyrics. Check out Glass Onion.
