Don’t be put off by the outfit, this is a dynamite performance from the 2012 Australian Recording Industry Awards, after which she was awarded Best Female Artist for the second year in a row.
She wrote this song when she was sixteen!

Not my style, but very technically impressive.
And she needs to fire her wardrobe designer.
I can do without all the autotune b.s., but I’ll give her points for uniqueness!
(Her dress looks like it has Alice Cooper as The Joker on it.)
More power to her, unplug the autotune.
Nice. Like the use of looping (making a sound and putting it on repeat to play over it). Love her singing and expressiveness.

The ARIAs are shit. Completely dominated by units produced, not sold. If you have enough money, you can win an ARIA to create a buzz around your artist.
Bleh. I’mma sit over here with Frenzal Rhomb.
Yeah, I don’t know what was up with that outfit. But you win some, you lose some, I guess. She definitely has an artistic sensibility and this time it seems to have backfired somewhat.
She’s definitely unique. It’ll be interesting to see what direction her career takes.
I rather like the autotune/looping thing myself. It adds an extra dimension to her songs and allows her to use her voice for backup vocals and harmonies and sometimes as an instrument in itself. She occasionally performs using only the looping machines. I’ll post a couple of links to try to change your mind. If not, both have a pretty good eye candy quotient that hopefully will make them worth your time anyway. Both are renditions of the song I linked to in the OP.
Live at the Spotify house in Austin, TX
Thanks. I’m glad to see to see you appreciate the same things in the song that I do. It’s good to get validation from a pro.
And thanks for the link. I’ll definitely check her out.
