Comic strips that are funny

Tom the Dancing Bug

Me too. Of all the really old strips, this is the one that has aged most gracefully, for some reason. (Maybe it’s Dagwood’s timeless hairstyle?)

Big Bizarro fan – at it’s best, it’s far and away the funniest strip, reaching Calvin & Hobbes heights. I unfortunately only get it on Sundays.

In descending order of frequency & heights of funniness:

Bizarro
Monty
Boondocks
Foxtrot
Dilbert
Doonesbury
Sherman’s Lagoon
Zits (the artwork is often the best part)
Brewster Rockit

Alex. Cartoon strip in the Daily Telegraph* all about the life and times of a merchant banker and associates. Format is a four-frame cartoon in which the point of the first three frames is to make you think they are talking about something, and the fourth frame reveals it was something else… it’s much harder to describe than experience.

Andy Capp. A classic. And quite a complex character.
