I’m running XP and used to know a command you type under RUN that allows you to select/deselect programs to load at start up. Anyone know what it is? I can’t even begin to think of a way to do a useful search for it.
Thanks!
Msconfig.
Also in the msconfig menu you can go onto the BOOT.INI tab and select NOGUIBOOT, this will stop the windows loading screen from appearing and it said to improve boot times. Another way to improve boot times is to put your hard drive first in your boot-priority.
Msconfig is the one built into Windows, I’d recommend Autoruns. It’s freeware, very lightweight (326K), and much more comprehensive than msconfig.
Sysinternals.com has a lot of other good, free stuff like that.
