I think it is a fair assumption that most of us don’t eagerly watch commercials.
However, are there any types of commercials that do interest you and might influence you to buy a product or take part in a sale, etc.?
Apple product commercials always seem to draw me in.
A good trailer can be better than the movie.
But does that make you want to see the movie, or make you not want to see the movie because you figure you’ve already seen the best part.
It seems to me that ads/trailers are at least as likely to make me avoid a movie or TV show as to seek it out.
Is “hot Old Spice Guy” a genre?
I voted Other. I like commercials that make me laugh - like the etrade baby or any number of Doritos ads. Not that they make me want to try the product being advertised - I just find such ads appealing.
I probably should have voted the Food category also, only because I’ll occasionally see one that makes me realize I want that particular item. Altho by particular item, it’s not necessarily the brand so much as the category. For example, if I see a Dunkin Donuts ad, if it gives me a hankerin’ for donuts, I’ll be going to the local grocery that has an in-store bakery because their donuts are killer good!
Mostly, tho, I tune out commercials.
