Commercials that Advertise two seperate Items in one shot

You know youve seen them:

The classic “Got Milk?” and Trix Rabbit spot.

The Current Ore Ida amd Heinz? Ketchup spot.

Discuss…

Auto manufacturer routinely advertise more than one model in an ad, though that’s probably not what you have in mind.

Stan Freberg’s classic Geno’s Pizza Rolls commercial referred to Lark Cigarettes, though the brand wasn’t mentioned by name. Still, I don’t think Lark objected to the free ride.

I have vague recollections of a battery commercial (Energizer/Duracell?) that was used in another product in the ad – or vice versa – a product that was using a specific battery. Maybe a digital camera ad or mp3 player… it’s starting to irritate me, actually. Help anyone?

It’s quite common to see promotions for a movie and a fast food restaurant that has licensed the movie’s characters for kid’s meal toys and such.

Yes, I was frightened by the sight of Darth Vader and that staring, frozen Burger King guy doing a long, face-off take during a commercial the other day.

Target did (still does?) this. They’d actually advertise themselves AND multiple products they carry in the smae ad. From Tide to clothing lines to dog food. The ads were eyecatching and very welldone.

I don’t have time to find the link to the commercial but, around 1960, Cheerios and V-8 juice were both promoted in an ad campaign as an ideal breakfast combo. There was even some sort of jet or astronaut toy you could get if mailed in both a Cheerios label and a V-8 label.

The ads were before my time so I don’t know how effective they were. However, I recall reading that they had to change the commercials because too many people were getting the idea that you were supposed to pour the V-8 juice into your bowl of Cheerios like milk rather than just drink it in a glass like orange juice.

And, now that I’m home from work, I do have time to find the link.

Here’s the Cheerios/V-8 commercial.
