Neither have I. Admittedly until yesterday, I’d never had smores either, but that one’s been fixed.
That may be because you’re getting the wrong kind of tuna. Yeah, the regular tuna is reminiscent of cat food, but if you get the good stuff, it’s…umm…good. Unfortunately, around here the good stuff is anywhere from five to twelve bucks a can/jar.
I’ve never had a corn-dog. Until a couple years ago (I’m 43) I’d never had a Sno-cone or one of those airy cola icee drinks. I wasn’t impressed with either.

OMG, I’m a food whore. I have eaten and enjoyed everything on this list except the shellfish and that is only because of an allergy.
Good canned tuna? Good canned tuna? Good tuna is, errrr, real fresh fish!
Foods I’ve not tried, and have no real desire to try:
Succotash (which, as I understand it, is a mix of corn and some other veggie. And I’m not all that fond of cooked corn. Cornmeal is great, otherwise… ewww.)
Collared Greens (Well, I had the Navy version, but… umm… I’ve had the Navy versions of other foods, too, and I know how ‘authentic and accurate’ those were.)
Liver & Onions
Wabbit (Though I’ve no objection to it, in principal, just haven’t gotten around to it.)
Liver
Lobster
Red Bull and/or Rockstar
I’ve had most of the things in the thread, with the exception of Anastaseon’s Scandinavian things, which I think I’d hardly class as “common”, unless you live in Norway or parts of Minnesota.
What I haven’t are some relatively common (around here) Mexican dishes like:
Menudo. (although I’m told it’s pretty good)
Cabrito (have had goat, although it was a Pakistani dish, not Mexican)
Also, I haven’t had much in the way of organ meats, besides liver. I might have had tongue when I was really little, but I don’t recall my 3 year old years too clearly.
Surprised the hell outta me too. Sure, I prefer tuna raw, but high-quality canned tuna is tasty in its own right.
I’ve never had a Big Mac, either. And I’ve never had fish, lobster, crawdad, shrimp, or anything else that swims. Oh, I’ve had it offered to me, but I could never get past the smell - blegh. I’ve never had Mac & Cheese that didn’t come out of a blue box. I’ve never had mangoes, eggplant, squash (besides pumpkin pie), fresh spinach, rhubarb, rutabaga, plain tomato, mushrooms (blegh again), duck, lamb, veal, mutton, goat, rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, parsnip, artichoke, asparagus, breadfruit, brussels sprouts, tangerine, avocado, kiwi, fresh coconut, curry, liver and other offal, Good’n Plenty, Jujubes, foccacia bread…
Come to think of it, the list of foods I have eaten would probably be shorter.
I’m still a vegetarian so I don’t think I’ve eaten any of the things on the OP’s list or any other type of meat (besides chicken) for that matter.
Besides that, I’ve never eaten honey, red bull, doctor pepper/root beer, buttermilk, starfruit, or plums.
I’m sure there’s an endless list for me, but I’m not all that educated in the food department.
I’ve never had Spam. Not knowingly, anyway.
Same thing I was thinking, what in Og’s name do you eat?
I feel sorry for the good people on this list that are missing out on a world of culinary delights :dubious:
I’ve never had a lot of these things. Now that I’m a vegetarian, I doubt that I will, either. Here in Chicago, a lot of Eastern European food that I’d never heard of growing up in California is “comfort food”. Like pierogies, never had those, but I’ve had friends nostalgically discuss their grandparents’ versions. Or any fast food thing they don’t have in the Western part of the country, like White Castle or Hardee’s. OTOH, my coworkers are amazed by my mad chopstick skillz and desire to put avocados on every dish, so there you go.
I’ve also never had:
Twinkies
Brussels sprouts
Lima beans
grits
any shellfish
I’ll try 'em though. I don’t eat meat, but other than that I’m not picky. Mmmm, food.
You had more than one?
The only relativly common food I’ve never had is (this was in Singapore) fish head curry
Lots of other foods people have listed certainly aren’t common outside U.S.A., I think the question is better worded as “What foods commonly eaten where you live have you never tried?”. A list of foods common to the entire world would be very short or non-existant.
Personally i’ve never tried the following: Marmite, veggiemite, peanut butter, cockles, mussels, oysters. I’m sure the list is much longer than that but that is all I could think of off the top of my head.
Jellyfish and fertilized duck eggs are the only things I have seen so far I havn’t had. And maybe haggis. I have heard that the haggis in the U.S. doesn’t count cause it’s illegal to use lungs or something like that, don’t know if it’s true.
Is there really a prune whip? Or am I getting wooshed, cause i’ve never heard of it, let alone had it.
I can’t think of any *common *food I haven’t tried, but I know Moe has never eaten a strawberry.
That sounds like a misunderstanding, or a poor joke gone bad. There’s nothing unusual in haggis, and its mixed reputation is undeserved. ‘Mashed up stuff inside a digestive-system casing’ equally describes haggis and sausages. I’d be very surprised if sheep’s stomach is specifically not permitted in the US.
Well, considering that cow’s stomach is sold (tripe) I can’t think of any particular reason why sheep’s stomach would be off limits. Having said that, I do know that the USDA refuses to allow the sale of lungs, which does limit the availability of proper haggis here in the States.
