Community 5/17 - 3 episodes

Season goes out with a bang, and we get 3 episodes in one night.

I thought all three of them were quite good, although the video game one was a bit hit and miss (the horrible massacre at the blacksmith shop and the baby Abeds were great!).

#sixseasonsandamovie!!

The guys on Big Band Theory are supposed to be nerds, but I switch over during a commercial and their nerd cred went out the window because they weren’t watching Community in eight bits.

Well, sometimes in sixteen and maybe thirty two and there were parts where the characters seemed almost alive and I’m pretty sure video game graphics haven’t gotten THAT good.

I think the video game episode might be the best thing ever.

It did make me sad, though, that they obviously put together the finale so that it might function as the end of the series. Thank god we get 13 more episodes next year!

I don’t care a whit about Community but I saw the first half hour and am still laughing my midi-butt off. :p:p

Why was the lab chick from NCIS on the 2nd episode?

My opinion: Sometimes there can be too much clever. Tonight hit that point for me. Actually, the “Virtual Systems Analysis” episode hit that point for me, but tonight pushed it over the top. I still love this show, but I hope in the next 13 episodes they tone it back a titch.

West coast viewer. I only saw the first episode and didn’t like it. The only funny part was blacksmith shop massacre. The episode had a similar feel to when they were all claymation characters.

I thought that was her!

I have no idea.

Almost forgot, isn’t Pierce’s half brother played by the guy in “Once Upon a Time” who plays the newspaper editor in love with Regina?

Didn’t watch the video game episode yet.

But yay! Starface is back!

But boo!So is Chang

Second episode was good. I’m in the middle of the last one. I think more episodes like these two and less like the first one and the ratings might have been higher.

Goth Britta = My Head Explode.

Yep, but that role was meh. More importantly, he was evil Gus on Breaking Bad! That was the only thing interesting to me about that episode. It’s like watching someone else play a video game. How fun is that? I rather play not watch. So I found the episode a crashing bore. The finale was pretty good, not great, but leaves the door open to some interesting plots next season. It looks like every character has moved on a bit.

Ah. I never watched that show. Although I did look at the picture of him with his face half destroyed. Even knowing it’s fake it’s pretty disturbing.

I loved Troy telling the other air conditioner students to take whats-his-face to the police.

When Jeff was Googling William Winger, is that is father?

The end-tag with Leonard’s reviews was such an odd way to end the season. Was it just me, or was that the dreadlocks guy from first season (Chicken Finger ep) that Shirley had a crush on?

I found the Ocean’s 11 parody to be amazing, especially the star wars riffs, and the 16-bit adventure to be good, but lacking at the same time. I was really disappointed with the lack of Dean time we got in all three. AND I found the finale to be way too conclusive in the wrong areas. No resolution on the Britta/Troy or Annie/Jeff couplings, Troy’s plumbing vs ac was pretty much dropped completely, and the Dean’s importance to the school was subjugated by the 2nd to last episode and then forgot entirely.

Oh, and how dare they kill off John Goodman and transfer the feud over to that no-name A/C jabroni? I felt a serious derailing in momentum there.

I think so, if I remember the Jeff, son of William the barely known, joke from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons correctly.

My wife, who rarely watches and and has never played a video game in her life, thought the first episode was very funny.

The finale had the feel of a series finale, didn’t it?
