Community 5/17 - 3 episodes

Holy cow she is not very much like Annie at all. I’m not one for celebrity crushes, but she seems to tick all my boxes rather nicely.

Finally saw the final three last night. Despite having played video games for the best part of twenty five years, I found the first episode to be somewhat lacking the funny. Clever =/= funny, which for me has been a recurring issue with ‘Community’. It is without a shadow of a doubt one of the cleverest sitcoms out there but it simply doesn’t hit the funny mark often enough (for me), especially in the “concept” episodes.

Has anyone seen a run down of what was shown in the final montage? One or two things went over my head slightly, I feel.

From what I remember: Jeff searching for his father on the internet, Shirley and Pierce opening their store, Abed clearing out the dreamatorium, Tory moving in to the former dreamatorium, Starburns in the bathroom adjusting his wig, and the dean of City College formulating an attack plan with Chang in the vent.

Who’s Tory?

Troy from the dark timeline obviously.

…with a book on the sink titled “Faking Your Own Death” (or words to that effect.)

“The Art of Death Faking”.
I’m torn. While Starburns (sorry – Alex) can be a fun character, I almost hope we don’t see him again, and the story behind his fake death remains a delicious mystery.

In the thread about the episode in which Starburns died, someone linked to an article/interview with the actor who played him. Apparently his full-time job is as a writer or producer on the show and he did not enjoy playing the role at all and was happy that the character was killed off. So I’m slightly surprised at the suggestion that the character might return (although it was a fun character).

Dino Stamatopoulos certainly gave the impression that he wasn’t going to play Starburns again.

I didn’t DVR it, and I wasn’t staring at the screen. But I could have sworn that wasn’t Stamatopoulos but some other guy with star, er, burns. It was kind of shot close in the mirror so it was out of perspective, but I thought it was a Dean/Moby impersonator switcheroo.

After Harmon got kicked out, Dino sent a tweet that was something like “Starburns wasn’t dead, but now he really is,” implying that he’s done with the show.

Speaking of Stamatopoulos, I heard Marc Maron interviewing him on the “What the Fuck” podcast. Apparenty, Stamatopoulos is into bondage as a submissive and he hires dominatrices to … dominate … him.

The safeword is Alex.

Also Troy kept jumping around for no reason. And Britta knew more that Pierce on how to get around, but still accidentally killed two other characters. It’s been a long time since I’ve played video games, but I really loved that episode.

Dictator Chang was over the top (obviously) but I really liked that episode and the Ocean’s 11 plan. And like many people I really loved Jeff in the “magician” outfit.

Somehow it was even hotter when he took off the wig, but still had the guyliner of course.

Thanks!
