Community 5/17 - 3 episodes

Anyone happen to see Community? Maybe even have something to say about it?

Messiah Troy is awesome.

I’ve heard Seth MacFarlane say that he (MacFarlane) cannot appear in public without alcohol. I think every interview I’ve seen him do, he has a glass of whiskey in his hand.

I disagree with that most of all as boobs are perhaps the greatest courtesy. Boobs are the currency of courtesy online. So, Alison Brie:

NSFW, but no nudity

…yeah: but those are Annie’s Boobs, hence relevant to the thead.

“The product of a vile seductress and an unknown miscegenator.”

People, the discussion of spoilers at a theoretical level is out of place in this thread – take it to ATMB. And snide remarks about each other are absolutely out of place in this thread – take it to the Pit. Stop the hijack now.

The policy on spoilers is that people should use common sense and common courtesy on the. There is not now, and is not going to be, a rule about “it’s okay/not okay to put spoilers on Show X in a thread about Show Y.” That said, I think in general, if something might be a spoiler, err on the side of adding a spoiler box. And in these days when people watch cable shows, especially, on DVD or via streaming, the fact that something has aired doesn’t mean it isn’t courteous to treat spoilers as spoilers. Esp. in a show about a different thread.

How does she have a figure like that at her size, geeze. She’s 5’3!

It’s clear that Abed really should be locked up, right? If the bonesaw had a longer cord Jeff would be texting with one arm.

In Abed’s defense, that was Evil Abed with the bone saw.

You can tell them apart by the goatee.

I nearly died laughing when I realized it was a fake goatee that he seemed to have made from construction paper and stuck onto his face. Possibly the best moment of that episode.

And the bone saw.

Also, Evil Abed watches Whitney not Cougar Town.

No, they never mention it on the show, but how else would he be evil?

Apparently the video game was actually the last one in production order or something, but NBC decided to air it first. I don’t think it was too bad of a decision, as the other two seemed more “finale”-ish.

Did you miss the post-finale minisode?

Hugo and Ben go pick up WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT to make him the island’s real protector. Apparently Hugo’s only slightly less temporary than Jack.

You can stalk her on the intrawebs.

Not to mention her sex life at college:

You can continue at that site with deviant acts and the world’s most uncomfortable pull quote:

Or you could just stare at her Madonna-bettering portrait.

It just occurred to me that Troy and Abed’s roles IRL in the Chang’s birthday episode were two mustachioed plumbers.

I was excited until I realized that was a different episode from the video game episode.

I’ve just made a Big Discovery!

Pierce, now that he is disinherited, may recoup his fortune by claiming a connection to whatever is left of the Kodak inheritance.

I found this in a biography of George Eastman, from a newspaper interview in late 1897 or early 1898:

And not only that, but his biographer, Elizabeth Brayer, wrote of him:

He was an uptalker! The man was a walking sitcom. (Note: uptalk is not part of the Upstate accent today; and it probably was idiosyncratic to Eastman since I’ve never read another reference to it from local history.)

Also note the reference to **piercing **blue eyes. Do I have to make a better case that he’s one of Chevy’s ancestors?

Sampiro, please don’t spoiler other shows without clearly noted spoiler tags. I haven’t seen that episode of Breaking Bad and have been trying to avoid the spoilers.
[/QUOTE]

Then how do you know it’s a Breaking Bad reference?

Ep 1: The video game episode was a treat. Not every gag landed for me, but I was grinning like a clown through the whole thing. What other show would even dare try something like that?

Ep 2: The Ocean’s 11 stuff was great, but the whole Dictator Chang thing was a bit too over the top, even for Community. A pretty funny episode, but not necessarily above average (which is streets ahead of most sitcoms, anyway).

Ep 3: The Season Finale would have made such an excellent Series Finale that I almost wish it had been, especially now with Harmon gone. I’ll keep watching next season, but I’m not optimistic. We shall see.

Just consider any episodes after these to part of a new barely-connected series called The All-New Community, since TV shows have been doing that “all-new” crap for years to try to hype the lame carcass of a show after most of its principal actors have left, though in that case it’s the creative team that’s been replaced.
