We recently opened our new game of Monopoly and were puzzled by this one card in the Community Chest pile. Does anyone have any cluse as to what the reward might be?

Looks like a potentially valuable misprint. save it.
You get $45 in Monopoly money, and could probably get even more if Gunslinger is right.
My friend has that same misprint on his card too.

If you choose this one out of the Community Chest pile, the other players have to pick you up and throw you on your ass.
It also appears that a length of ticker tape should be inserted in your anus and wound around your body.
IIRC, wasn’t the reward $10 for that card? or was that for 2nd prize in a beauty contest?
You are meant to get $45 from sale of stock, but this card is obviously misprinted. Check to see if it is a rare and (perhaps) valuble misprint before writing in the $45 yourself.
That picture of the card is FAKE. You can see squares of a slightly darker yellow covering the “$45” on the card below the words. There’s also small jagged parts on the bottom lining of the card to the left, where the dark squares are sticking out. And when was the last time the Community Chest cards are colored?

What a mature way to handle yourself, considering my friend just bought a monopoly set and it was missing (I believe it was the Millenium edition). I didn’t even look at the picture honestly, I just saw others say it was the sale of stock.
But if you really want to be stupid and tell me to shut up, then go ahead, it’s not like I’m going to listen to you.
I don’t make things like this up, as for Snetho’s pic’s credibility, I can’t endorse it.
It looks fake to me, but as I said earlier, my friends new monopoly edition was the Millenium edition or something, so the card was fancier than that.
Actually, it isn’t fake. I did edit it, but only because I wrote in $100 thinking that to be a fair price (I also drew the card). Yes, I agree that I am a lousy photo editor/enhancer, but I figured it was the better way to facilitate an answer to my question, but apparently I was wrong. Below you will find a new link to prove my case…and if you would like to post a better editing job than I did, be my guest. BTW, I have a lousy scanner too.
One more thing, it is from the Deluxe Edition, which is basically the same game with a few extras like a plastic money tray, wooden houses/hotels and “deluxe Community Chest and Chance cards [to] add a touch of class.”

What is the Community Chest anyway? I assume it was a Depression-era charity or self-help organization that has since died out, but does anyone have the Straight Dope [insert trademark]?
