Community: Season 2 Premiere (open spoilers)

Thank you for asking. I was too embarrassed to.

And that, running piglet cheese, is a meta joke.

I’ve been whooshed, haven’t I?

Nothing wrong with that episode that more Abed wouldn’t have fixed.

The after the credits rap bit with Abed, Betty, and Troy was far and away the height of the show.

Thanks for the clarification, Dag. I feel so well informed now.

Ooooh, did I get it right? I’m SO not meta! I didn’t realize until after the show that the whole Shatner show premise was based around a Twitter feed.

Did any one else notice that Annie’s windows had bars in them?

I didn’t. Must go back and look at that.

I enjoyed It. No it wasn’t the best episode but you need those slightly weaker shows so the amazing ones stand out so much.

The ratings weren’t stellar. Why don’t more people watch this show?

This episode was a let down for me. The only reason Jeff and Annie kissed at the end of last season was for it to be resolved the first episode of this season? Same with Britta saying she loved Jeff… (although there will always be tension there).

I’m sure the show will be as great as last season, I just didn’t like this episode.

Question. Assuming they avoid cancellation, how does the show continue beyond this year? Isn’t community college a 2 year thing?

No NBC comedies (or dramas, for that matter) have gotten good ratings in years. This year in particular I fear Community will get its shit pushed in by The Big Bang Theory. I hate that TBBT moved the Thursday, especially since it was replaced by a show about fatties. Ugh.

I thought the episode was funny but a little ham handed in trying to bring new viewers into the loop.

Also, Old White Man Says is an actually twitter feed.

Greendale is somehow a four-year community college, in exactly the same way the Greendale is in a snowless Colorado instead of California.

If the show is a hit it will be the first community college with a graduate school.

Maybe they will pay some lip service about it getting certified as a state college when the time comes…

I thought they were in Arizona.

ETA: oh, no, they are in Colorado according to wiki. Shit, that’s distracting and stupid. I’m just going to pretend they’re in Arizona.

Wow looking at the followers of that feed, each character has their own fictional (not sure if that is the right word) account complete with tweets. That’s dedication!

Some community colleges do offer four year degrees, so it isn’t that implausible.

Is a little weird that some of the more “togeather” characters wouldn’t transfer out to a better school after two years though.

Actually, since private schools are becoming soooo expensive, a lot of community colleges in high population density areas are looking into creating bachelors programs and 4 years schooling. Along with dormitories (like the one Abed lives in, that don’t actually exist in traditional community colleges)

Umm, as a gay man I have to say it is TOTALLY gay man pandering also…at least 4 other guys I know simply watch because Joel McHale is super-HOT

A very traditional two-year community college near me has dorms.

I think this show is too meta to be too meta, if that makes sense.
