Comp trouble: BSOD

Heres what happened:
I was installing some driver updates from MSI. The last one was either the video card or the motherboard. I do not remember which.

I rebooted as required after the update. On reboot, I got (and still get):

A very quick glimpse of the Blue Screen of Death right after the windows loading screen (white with blue status bar, not the black screen), followed by a reboot.

The comp will boot completely in Safe Mode.

I have tried resetting the CMOS, to no effect.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Reboot with F8 and select Safe Mode. Assuming that Windows loads, access the Device Manager and try rolling back the drivers for both the video card and the motherboard (do them one at a time if you wish to figure out which one is the problematic one), then reboot normally. If this fails, try rebooting back into safe mode and go to the device manager again, but trhis time completely uninstall the troubling devices and reboot again. Windows should redetect them and install the default driver(s). If all else fails, you might need to reinstall Windows, unless someone else has a better idea.

Holy Fuck.

It seems that just posting on the SDMB is enough to magically heal technology woes.

I have rebooted at least 60 times since I first got the error, with the same result EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

While I was typing that post, I was leaving my desktop (the one with the problem) in its endless little cylce of reboot-error-reboot.

One I posted, I looked over from my perch at my laptop, only to find “Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to login”.
Holy shit.

Anyway, thank you, you magical little hamsters!

Y’see, it heard me threatening it with a reinstall. I showed it who’s boss!

QED - your response wasn’t there when I made my last post, but seeing as how the hamsters have healed my equipment (that sounds dirty), I won’t have to reinstall windows. But thank you for thefast response.
