Compensation for Jingle Writers? ("Two and a Half Men" question)

In the show “Two and a Half Men”, Charlie Sheen plays Charlie Parker, a successful jingle writer who can afford a nice Malibu beach house. He obviously has a good amount of money to spend on booze, bimbos, and gambling.

My question – can one make that good of a living writing jingles for commercials?

You bet.

But it’s like being a successful actor or writer or artist. One in a thousand gets rich.

Ask Barry Manilow.

His early career included writing many jingles. Some classic, some still in use today.
