How in the world do you delete songs from your Ipod Nano? I am sure it is the easiest thing in the world, but I am flummoxed.
Delete them from the playlist in iTunes, then sync…
To expand: Highlight selection on playlist. Right click and select “Delete.” Click “OK” a few times. Sync.
You don’t even need to delete them from your computer. Just uncheck that little grey box to the left of the song in iTunes until it’s a little clear box. It stays on your computer but is deleted from the iPod. If you have a Mini and space is an issue, this will let you pick and choose from album cuts, depending on your mood, without having to re-acquire the song with difficulty and cost later down the road.
When your iPod is connected to your computer, you can also click on the “music” tab, and then on the “Manually manage music” box. Doing so will allow you to specify with a check box which playlists you want synced. If you uncheck playlists, the next time you sync, they will disappear from your iPod.
I do this with Christmas music. I don’t need to have Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians taking up space on my iPod from January through November. December rolls around, I check the box again, and they’re back on my iPod.
You can’t delete them. It’s a “feature” to make sure you upgrade to a larger iPod soon enough :).
Remember if you want the song gone for good you must delete it from the Music Library, deleting it from the Playlist only takes it out of that list and the song will still be in your Library.
You don’t even need to manually manage the music (mmm? :D). I don’t have that checked on mine. I do as you do, though, and decide which playlists I want loaded at any given time.
