Completely mundane poll: soggy or crunchy cereal?

Only cooked cereals should be soft.

Crunchy for cornflakes, soaked but firm for weetabix, soggy for museli.

Crunchy all the way. I pour my granola into the bowl then carefully empty a pot of yoghurt to the side. They only mix seconds before they enter my mouth.

I hate eating my corn flakes when they are crunchy. Soggy all the way!

Soggy.

One of my favorite treats is a bowl of life, doused in milk and then stuck back in the fridge for 45 minutes or so.

I once asked my now ex wife, “How can you eat Grape Nuts? They never get soggy.”

Woman looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my head.

My cereal of choice lately is “quick” oatmeal uncooked with cold milk. I find it refreshing in the warmer months.

I like soggy cereal best. Especially Frosted Flakes. The generic kind though. The flakes are thicker and there’s more sugary goodness.

It’s a rare treat.

Depends on the cereal:
examples:

Corn Flakes (which I rarely eat): Soggy
Honey Bunches of Oats: Crunchy
Grape Nuts: Is it even possible to eat them without letting them get soggy?
Cheerios: Crunchy
Raisin Bran: either/or

I voted “soggy,” but this is more what I’m aiming for. Crunchy is too dry for me. And Cap’n’Crunch–shit, I probably still got scars on the roof of my mouth eating that before the milk had a chance to soften it. Stuff was like eating nails.

What I definitely don’t want is straight-out-of-the-box crunchiness. That’s way too much for me.

Freaks. How can you even eat that shrapnel that is Cap’n Crunch without mutilating your gums? Most crunchy cereal is better suited for weaponry than eating.

Let that shit soooooak.

Same. Soggy cereal makes me gag (Mr. Accident’s comparison to “wads of snot” is why). I can handle some things squishy. But cereal absolutely must be crunchy.

Yes, this. I cannot vote in this poll as it stands.

Mmmm… soggy Life Cereal.

Some of each. Grown up flakes with fruit and nuts are best, to me, right when the milk is poured.

Things like peanut butter Cap’n Crunch and Fruit Loops I like to let sit long enough so the flavors develop and they shred the roof of my mouth less.

Just the way my grandma did, I pour a bowl of Grape Nuts and add the milk, then go take my shower. By the time I’m dressed and back in the kitchen they are just right.

I find soggy cold cereal so repulsive, that I pretty much gag if I encounter it.

ex…if my son leaves a half eaten bowl of Special K on the counter and I go to rinse it out.

I don’t even eat any sort of “flake” cereal because that’s the kind that gets soggy quickest.

In-between. A happy medium, if you will.

I don’t like cereal that’s hard enough that you need to crunch, and I don’t like cereal so soft that it’s falling to bits. The window’s a bit small, it’s true, but that’s the best part of the breakfast.

I selected soggy until I discovered the secret third option which is the only correct one.

If the cereal is sweetened, then I prefer it soggy.

However, if it is not sweetened and I add bananas or other fruit, then I prefer it crunchy.

I would eat crunchy cereal if I had to, but prefer soggy. Like a chunky milkshake!

Ditto. From the time the milk (only a little) hits my cereal, I have a very short window (2-3 minutes) in which the cereal is edible. I wait to pour the milk if there is any chance I’ll be interrupted in that couple of minutes.

I think that soggy cereal is absolutely disgusting.
