I’m beginning to think I’m the only person who likes their cereal soggy. Sometimes I’ll even leave the bowl out for a bit so the cereal can soak up all the milk. People, tell me I’m not insane!
Or tell me I am insane, so I can brush up on my manic laughter.
Any type of raisin bran needs to be soggy. This goes for the Honey Nut line of cereals as well.
The Captain Crunch brand of cereal needs to be somewhere in the middle. Not so crunchy that it cuts my gums, but not so soggy that it feels like I’m swallowing wads of snot with each bite.
Cheerios, corn or frosted flakes, lucky charms, etc, need to be crunchy.
Generally agree. I do find, though, that Frosted Flakes work well as a soggy cereal. It’s like a completely different – but quite pleasant – foodstuff from when it’s crunchy.
I went with crunchy, but technically I like it to soak for a small amount of time. But not to the point where it is soggy or mushy. If I’m going to do that, I might as well eat hot cereal.
Exactly. There is a perfect point between soggy and crunchy. It’s very hard (impossible, really) to arrange for the whole bowl to be at that point as you eat it. The early spoonfuls are too dry and the later spoonfuls too soggy. But just between is the good part.
Same here. I think of cereal more as something to eat a few handfuls of out of the box as an easy snack, very rarely do I even have a traditional cereal meal with a bowl and spoon.
I agree with this. The amount of time it takes to go back to the kitchen and put everything away and pour a beverage is usually just right for softening a flake-based cereal.
I also agree that supersoggy frosted flakes are no longer cereal, but a sort of… pudding. A completely different foodstuff and really more suitable as a dessert than a breakfast.
