Computer Games in Thailand

I’ve been looking into purchasing a copy of Medieval Total War 2 from Ebay. I’ve found dozens of copies for less than half the retail price from sellers located in Thailand claiming that their cds are entirely legal and original. Should I trust one of the Thai sellers and try and save several dollars or stick to a US seller?
Thanks

If you’re serious, you might want to contact the company which produces the game and ask them their opinion. FWIW, I have many VCDs and a few DVDs I purchased when we lived in Thailand. Some I still keep for the cheesy production quality. LotR was ripped from an Academy Award copy, and has the most hilarious English subtitles, obviously written by someone for whom English was not their first language and had probably never read the books. It’s comedy gold.

I bought a Thai version of Master of Orion 3 that was essentially unplayable.

But that was the case in any language MOO3 was written in - it was about as much fun as playing a spreadsheet.
