computer geeks- help please!

Oh man…If I weren’t at the end of my rope, I wouldn’t be writing.

At work I have an Anitec Laser-Red 310 negative printer. Upon further investigation, it appears that Anitec was just a reseller (slap their sticker on a printer). It appears to be an ECRM VR30 printer.

I am using this with MAC/LAN client and printing from both a PC and a MAC. The PC is having problems where you can’t get options like “custom size” in Pagemaker because it appears that the drivers it is using are old (they look like 3.1). These are the drivers that came with it, but they just aren’t working.

This printer worked on a PC with MAC/LAN in the past, but that computer says it is using “Agfa selectset 7000” drivers with this particular printer. (This is an old dinosaur with Win 95 on it that doesn’t work right, but you can see how it was set up)

Problem: I cannot find Win98 drivers for this printer anywhere, and I don’t know who to call for service on it. Kodak (who bought out much of Anitec) doesn’t know what I’m talking about, and Anitec doesn’t, either.

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? A google search shows lots of hits, but none with proper Win 98 drivers.

Thanks for anyone who can help me out here.

It appears that the printer is both old and unusual enough that most of the drivers listed are application, not OS, specific.

The unit is apparently also known as a ECRM ScriptSetter or Imagesetter VR30

Judging by advertised setups it appears Pagemaker 6 may have the appropriate drivers for this unit but these are MAC based setups. If the printer is valuable enough a cheap used 500mhz or so Mac running PM 5.0 or 6.0 might work in place of the PC.

Here are the latest drivers for your currently defined printer settings (although it is not the correct printer) .

I don’t know if you’ve been here yet, but - http://www.driverguide.com - may have what you’re looking for. You have to register before you can download any driver(s), but it’s free, and you might just find what you’re looking for.
