Computer image question

Can anyone tell me why my computer will only display certain images on web pages? I know about the option to turn off graphics; this isn’t the problem.

Also if I click on a thumbnail image you will see the picture as it’s dowloading, but when it’s complete it vanishes and I have to wait for that stupid enlarge button to show up from holding the cursor over the image a few seconds. Can’t I just skip the small image step and have all my pics come in supersized without the dumb button- it’s really annoying… thanks in advance

What browser and OS are you using? This sounds like unusual behaviour to me, and would probably be cleared up with updates to your system - browser update (or change), OS update, and, probably most important, video card driver update.

I’ve found similar problems, with commercial installs of Windows. Sometimes they don’t have the ability to deal with JPGs. Yes, it’s a nightmare to sort out. No, I don’t know the shortcut.

Well, I can’t say anything display driver-wise- but my OS (ME) and my browser (IE6) are always updated.

I’ll check and see if there are any updates for my card- but I seem to remember everything worked as it should when i first started-out jpegs and hyperlinks haven’t changed that much… >sigh< helpppp$!#!$#@^% :smack:

I don’t know about your first question.

As for the second, if you are using Internet Explorer, check out Tools/Internet Options/Advanced, scroll down to the “Multimedia” section, and uncheck “Enable Automatic Image Resizing”. This keeps IE from guessing what size you want the images and displays whatever, erm, OBJECTS you are looking at in their full-size glory the first time.
