Computer problem

How do you bring up Solitaire when you’re waiting for the internet to decide whether it is going to get you what you asked for? Can I put the Solitaire icon into Netscape on my so-called desktop (so-called even though it is a vertical screen) by grabbing it with the mouse pointer and just shoving it into Netscape? and then bring up Netscape?

Assuming you’re using Windows of some kind, I take it that clicking on start, programs, accessories, games, solitaire doesn’t do it for you?

If you start up Solitaire before you start Netscape, you should be able to alt-tab between them.

If you’ve got them maximized, you can un-maximize them so you can see past netscape behind the Solitaire window so you’ll know if the page loads.

OTOH, if your system’s slow enough that you have to wait for the page to load, perhaps it’s best not so slow it down further by playing Solitaire… maybe you should get a deck of cards…

IF you have a fast enough computer and IF you have a decent operating system, you can probably bring up solitaire.

Do you have a Start menu? You might find Solitaire in there (look for games, or accessories, or something.) You should be able to get to the start menu at any time, and thus you can fire up Solitaire.

The problems you might face are if you computer is too slow or doesn’t have enough memory it won’t be able to do more than one thing at once, if your OS is old enough (Windows 3.1?) it will also be unable to do more than one thing at a time.

No, you can’t put an icon from your desktop inside Netscape. You could, however, make Netscape small enough so that it doesn’t obscure your entire desktop and access the icon that way.

Good luck!

In Windows:
Make a shortcut for solitaire.
Right click on the start button. Select OPEN.
Drag the shortcut into the window that opens. Sol will be on your START menu.

Sure, create a shortcut, if you are using W98 or better, drag that shortcut to your desktop quicklaunch bar. There it is, easy to get to.
