Computer question, how do you remove software from Win 95?

I’m using Windows 95 as my OS.
I recently installed some software that included Yahoo Messenger. Now, every time I start my PC, Yahoo messenger starts. I want it to stop doing this. I looked in the Startup file and it’s not there to delete. I ran the uninstall program for it and it’s still there. I even went in Regedit and deleted any reference I found for it and it’s still there. How do I remove this from my machine ? Ya, I made a bad call installing this stuff, but I would like to remove it without crashing everything. Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Check out http://www.geek.com/tipstrix/w98tpman.htm under “Removing Startup Programs”. This works for Win98. Dunno whether or not it works for Win95, but it’s worth a shot.

Look in all the Yahoo Messenger menus. There may be a menu option that lets you choose whether or not to run it at startup. In any case, I think software developers whose products run at startup without you telling them to should be herded into concentration camps in the desert and used for medical experiments.

Right click on the little icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. I think your start-up options are there.

The link below should take you the following article from PC Magazine by Neil J. Rubenking, “Take Charge of Windows Start-up: Startup Cop controls which programs Windows
launches at start-up.” The article provides a link to Startup Cop which you can download for free.

It could be loading from your win.ini under the RUN or LOAD area. But Yahoo web site must have instructions on what to do, I can’t believe they don’t.
