Yes, we are.
I can probably only do one game at a time these days between working 2 jobs and having holiday stuff coming up. If the other game goes south and leaves me without a distraction I’d play, but I’m afraid that having two games would end up with my play getting somewhat half-assed.
So, sorry if you’re counting on me here right now.

Though I’d really like to play RTFirefly after dragging him in here, I have to drop out. I signed up for the World Masters tournament. If things go well I’ll have plenty of dip for the next couple of years. If, however, you guys decide to play an interesting variant, or with a really slow schedule, I may still be interested.

I would be most eager to be thrashed soundly from one end of the board to the other.
I’ll recount players tomorrow, unless someone wants to do it for me. I have a baby asleep on my lap and it’s hard to surf ATM.
With Christmas travel coming up, and other stuff I’ve got to take care of, I’d like to wait until after the first of the year to begin play - assuming we get this game off the ground in the first place, that is.

Munch will you be able to play? If so, I think we might be ready to roll (or at least ready to set up for post-holiday play).
Yeah, I think I’m able. I should be able to pick up a copy sometime this week.
Munch, if you’ve never played Diplomacy before, check out diplom.org. It’s a great resource for FAQs, openings, rules, maps, etc.
WeirdDave, should we submit country preferences via email?
Munch, if you’re the only newb in this game, and if it’s okay with the other players, I could “mentor” you for the first couple of rounds.
Oh, and regardless, if you could post links to results here every so often so that I can razz Wikkit it would be much appreciated.

Sorry, maybe it’s because you speak so softly. I probably thought you were going to play in both. So where’s that World Master’s link? I checked under my nose and there’s only some stubble there. (I’ll check in the other thread)
FWIW, this game won’t be nearly as much fun without you to taunt; I’ll have to pick someone else. I don’t (usually) like to taunt you when you’re playing WMs, since then you’re kin and I have to root for you. Although I might be willing to make an exception in your case. 
OK, everybody email me at Weirddave at gmail dot com with top 3 country selections. When I get that done I’ll put up the website. I’ll look for Spring 1901 moves sometime the week after Xmas, that OK with everyone?
I’ll be ready to commence play after the first of the year. So maybe first moves due a few days after that?
If you have seven who are ready to get going any sooner, I’ll be happy to drop out in order to let the game commence.
After the first is better for me a well. But since that is only a few weeks, I’m game for getting everything set up.
