Hmm. I think she’s kind of pretty. Nice skin, good features. I appreciate a smile with a gap, too, or just a somewhat-different look. (I love Gary Busey’s teeth. And Steve Buscemi’s too.)
She’s prettier when she smiles (aren’t we all?), but I doubt I’d be smiling much if I were in her shoes. I’d look like Bitch of the World, were I her. All it takes to make ME scowl is my four year old demanding a banana for the fifth time in twelve seconds. Put me in a suit, high heels, in front of a bunch of stodgy competitive politicians on national television, and I do believe my scowl could outdo hers.
I’ve seen women go after professional men due to their looks, and talking about their lack of looks to the detriment of their professional accomplishments.
However, even women don’t criticize men as much as they criticize other women (on average: everyone’s different.)
So, a small group of women make comments about some professional men whereas professional women take flack from all sorts of men and women.
In addition to, if the professional woman is the slightest bit attractive, the men who would be howling at her would then be drooling, also to the detriment of noting their professional abilities. Which isn’t totally unheard of in women, either, especially w/r/t men, but is much rarer.
Can’t say it’s very fair, no.
Although I must comment at this point that there was one time when I saw a photo on the web during the time of the Microsoft anti-trust hearings, and I couldn’t tell if it was Bill Gates or Janet Reno, which doesn’t say much for either of their looks.
