Confederate Flag outside the South

Similar to this, it’s not unheard of to see one in a truck cabin here.

I have a ( modern ) Imperial Flag and would display it anywhere in Britain if I wanted, or perhaps shall have a small replica decal on my next car.

Then again, I personally revere the Kaiserreich above any of the horrible regimes since 1918, either German or any other country on God’s Earth.

If you like it so much, why don’t you move to Bismarck!?

I think this requires its own thread, something like “Ask the pre-war German Imperialist”. I look forward to it.

If I’m not mistaken there were many Jews who were awarded the Iron Cross over the years before they were banned from the military under Nazism, but it’s still- rightly or wrongly- regarded as Nazi paraphernalia in schools.

There was a news story a few years ago about a Vietnam born store owner in California who displayed a shrine to Ho Chi Minh in his window. There were some demonstrations and, IIRC, vandalism of the store. Anyone recall this?

I do recall this, actually. It wasn’t even a shrine, so much as a Vietnamese flag, and I believe he may have had a picture of Ho Chi Minh in his store, but I’m not certain.

The problem being that in California, there is a HUGE population of Vietnamese who are here because they or their parents fled the Communist government, and that guy touched on a lot of nerves.

He was legally 100% within his rights, of course, but I don’t recall how all that ended.

Here is an article about an Oregon school bus driver getting fired because his personal pickup truck, which he parked in the bus lot, had a Confederate flag on it.
