Well, our days of thinking she’s a crazy person have certainly come to a middle.

Pretty sure that was sarcastic…
Next up: Man with underpants on his head and wrapped in electrical cords shouts in local park “I’M NOT CRAZY, YOU’RE ALL CRAZY!”
I would do a /sarcasm in such posts, but I trust to the native wisdom of most Dopers.
Shiny!
Sometimes when you are trying to type “disrespected maniac dimwit”, autocorrect gets it wrong.
From here:
“Listen, buddy. All I wanna tell you is that you shouldn’t do that. It’s not nice, you understand? Look at me when I’m talking to you. This is my number, and if you bother me any more I’m gonna hit you so hard, it’s gonna leave you stupid. Cool it.”
And from there I learned she got an Emmy for the show, giving her the EGOT (although not sure if that was the last award or not (I suspect it was)).
Complaining that people think you’re crazy, and doing that complaining as a guest on an infowars episode is, I mean, crazy.
But who is crazier? MTG or Alex Jones.
This sounds to me like the title of some future episode of a history program. Or perhaps the title of a chapter from a textbook entitled:
Recent US History
Chapter Two~ Who is crazier, MTG or Alex Jones?
Lies don’t just travel faster than the truth, they sometime demonstrate remarkable staying power despite lacking any hint of validity. We all know that the 2020 election was the most controversial in modern history, but even years after the election itself there were still controversies unfolding . . . . . .
Well, Jones has maintained a respectably high level of crazy for more than two decades now, but Empty Greene has had a much greater rate of crazy increase, reaching Jonesian levels of crazy in a relatively short period of time. So, if she can maintain that rate for a few more years, she will clearly surpass Jones, but as it stands right now, the winner is not so clear.
If you consider total craziness to be the integral of instantaneous craziness over time, I’d say that Alex is well ahead. But MTG might well surpass Alex at some point.
I can agree with that. The big variable is if Jones feels her hot breath on his neck, and ups his game to try to stay on top.
It really wasn’t. Unlike 2000, the result was abundantly clear within 2-3 days of the polls closing. It was only “controversial” because GOP leaders made it that way.
Repeating the narrative that the 2020 election was controversial only strengthens the case for GOP-backed election “reforms” that stand to disenfranchise millions. I know we’re mostly among friends here, but please be careful about using that terminology with more mainstream audiences.
Very vivid imagery.
Somewhere, Rule 34 is being invoked.
I almost did descend into “Dear Penthouse, I always thought these letters were fake…” territory.
Of course I was mistaken to write that portion, I beg your pardon.
I would fully expect the Who is crazier question to be part of a future text book (or documentary on this time we are living through) but the sounding like a textbook portion was poorly done.
(For the record, I did not mean the election was controversial because there was uncertainty about the results. I meant it was controversial because there was chaos, protests, and insurrection as a result of it. In that sense it was controversial- it literally was the subject of much controversy.)
I remain convinced however that the title Who is crazier, MTG or Alex Jones would perfectly encapsulate some future history of this time. It would give the lecturer an opportunity to introduce two of the more extreme characters on the conspiracy side of things which would make a nice contrast with the voices of region – especially sane Republicans who didn’t flip away from Trump and then back to him and other more statesman like peoples.
I’m trying to imagine what a textbook, say written 50 years from now, covering this past couple of years would be like, and the best I can come up with is that South Park episode about the origins of the Mormons, where they kept flashing, “All of this is true” at the bottom of the screen.
