Connection between "Weekend at Bernie's" and Samuel Beckett?

Some Googling turns up nothing, but I think I’ve heard it from a couple different people over the years, and it’s somehow gained a foothold of credibility in my mind. Seeing as how I wrote a Master’s thesis on Beckett, you’d think I’d know if this were true, and yet it retains in my mind that aura of being so amazingly improbable that it ends up being likely.

Help me out, Dopers:

Is there some connection between Weekend at Bernie’s and Samuel Beckett?

Well, Diamond Farnsworth did stunt work on both Weekend at Bernie’s and Quantum Leap.

I’ll give you this, jackelope: it’s a fascinating leap.

Hmm. I had somehow not known that the guy on Quantum Leap was named Samuel Beckett. Just so’s we’re all perfectly clear here, I’m talking about the Samuel Beckett who wrote Waiting for Godot, Endgame, etc. (In case there are other fanatics here, my wife somehow found a copy of Film for me for Christmas. Fantastic.)
