Conservatives on immigration are the most vicious people on earth

Can you think of any differences between robbing a bank at gunpoint, and crossing a border without proper documentation?

I’ll put the commenters on the Joliet, Il Patch website up against them any day!

I know, right? Hyperbole is the worst thing ever.

Suppose the robber didn’t have a gun and just handed the teller a note?

If you think wanting a secure border is deserving of harm because of unmatched viciousness you must not get out much.

That’s called a customer. Those notes you see them handing are checks, and the reason that the teller gives them money in return is because the checks are drawn on accounts.

Given the right argument, a large number of supposedly decent people will gleefully impose harm on other people who are different or weaker. This has been a standard truth in human history.

One is wrong and a violation of a just and morally-defensible law, while the other is not.

Not necessarily. You’ve never heard of unarmed bank robbery before?

I think we could use this thread to differentiate the humans from the robots pretending to be humans.

So you are saying that we could use this thread to differentiate the humans from ;l;lgbFGVI;HZCV L&()&%r,LPYI8.

People comment viciously. On comments sections. Sometimes they are encouraged, or provoked by trolls and robots.

I see a numbing effect after time passes by, where we are less involved in these things, and understand that we are being provoked, and stop engaging. I’m guessing it will have an arc, a little like the credibility polls of donald, or his favorite tv network.

Ah, I wouldn’t describe that as “just handing the teller a note”, I would describe that as robbing a bank through threats of force.

I did know where you were going with that, just thought my interpretation was more amusing, and it being the pit, I don’t have to take things too seriously.

So, you equate crossing a border without documentation to be the same as threatening to kill someone then?

Do you lock the door to your house, apartment, or trailer? How about chaining your bicycle to a tree? Do you password protect your accounts? Why?

Perhaps they are equating the two activities based simply on their legality?

Why are you asking irrelevant questions? One’s personal sphere is not the same as a large-scale geographic entity.

It’s not irrelevant. Political entities own property and have property rights as well.

Don’t believe me? Go down to the police station and liberate a computer.

Sure. But the idea that the entire territory is the property of the state went out with kings.

Basically there are three kinds of people. Those who don’t want to throw anybody overboard. Folks who don’t mind throwing somebody overboard, but just don’t want to hear the splash. Folks who delight in both the throwing overboard and hearing the splash.

We’re talking about the third kind here.

You’re right, obvious they are not literally the most vicious people on the earth, but after going through hundreds of comments of mean spirited and uncharitable views puked out one after another, I needed to vent.
