As I mentioned in this thread, I want a console so that I can play Guitar Hero. (Maybe Dance Dance Revolution, too. But for now, mostly Guitar Hero)
So, which one do I want?
I haven’t been keeping up with the video game world because until now, there really haven’t been any games that I’ve seen that I wanted to play. On commercials, the Wii looks like it might be fun. But it’s more expensive than some of the others.
Suggestions, anyone?
The Wii is actually the cheapest out of the three next-gen consoles.
Besides the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, the only system with a Guitar Hero game is the PS2 (which has four). But the PS2 is on its way out and will likely not get many more Guitar Hero games (I’d say one more is possible, but not likely).
If price is a concern, you’ll want the Wii. If price is not as much of a concern, go for the Xbox 360 version as Activision has added a few extras (namely Quick Co-Op Play) that aren’t present in the Wii version.
Justin Bailey is correct. However, if you’re not interested in next generation consoles and money is a concern, a Playstation 2 might be worth considering.
You can get Guitar Hero 1, 2, and 3 for it and also Rock Band.
Also worth noting: if actually being able to find one to buy is a concern, you might want to go with something other than the Wii.
