Construction Inspection question

My friend built a garage last weekend, he has a permit and was using approved plans. He discovered yesterday that one of the walls is 1/2 - 3/4" out of plumb (over it’s 8 ft height). We were careful to level things up when building the walls, but things must have shifted during the building process. The other three walls are plumb.

Will this cause the building inspector to fail him on the framing? He doesn’t really want to call the county building department to draw attention to this, in case they don’t normally check for level.

Is he worrying about nothing, or is this a serious problem that he will have to correct?

No. He’s going to look for structurally sound techniques, and that you built what the plans/permit say you were supposed to build. The thing won’t fall down with one wall out of plumb. I doubt he’ll even put a level on it.

Is this a wall with a door or window in it? If so, you’re probably going to have a little grief when they go in.
